Welcome to the wonderful world of childhood! We're sure
your little ones are extremely dear to you and as a responsible parent
you're making one of many great decisions regarding your child's health
by reading and educating yourself on oral health for kids. Now, if
you're like us, as children we grew up with similar stories, does "Oh,
they're only baby teeth, they don't matter", sound familiar? |
Recent studies are proving this convention wrong on several grounds. First,
premature loss of even baby teeth suggests an infection has occurred in a
child's mouth, and that infection can and often will be passed on to the
next set of teeth, the ones that are supposed to matter.
Secondly, studies are showing that premature loss of baby teeth can
contribute to "crooked" teeth in young adults. Baby teeth are place markers
for the growing gums and jaw line and their early departure may make for
costly reparation bills later on. Now for some shocking news: early
childhood tooth decay is the most prevalent infectious disease in childhood,
and completely preventable, unlike the second most prevalent disease:
asthma.
There are many ways to clean your child's baby teeth, gums, and mouth, but
the combination of convenience, taste, and effectiveness is assuredly found
in our product: SPIFFIES. Spiffies are individually wrapped toothwipes that
come in three favorite flavors for little ones: grape, apple, and mango. And
even for the most finicky we offer a flavor free wipe. Spiffies are made
with xylitol, a scary sounding ingredient with a heart of gold.
Had we discovered it we would have named it something else 'sweetypie'
perhaps.Because it's sweet like sugar but actually has none of the same
properties as cane sugar. It does not cause cavities, it prevents them.
Plaque causing bacteria can not consume it and wreak havoc on the breath and
hygiene. Just go ask the Fins from Finland who discovered xylitol in the
1950's and have been using it in their gums and toothpastes ever since!
Each SPIFFIES contains 3/4 gram of xylitol. Effective enough to ensure a
clean mouth after each feeding, juice, milk, and nap! We recommend using
SPIFFIES that often! And once those first back molars appear, we believe, is
the perfect time to start introducing your child to brushing and use
Spiffies to wipe the teeth and gums after that brushing for some extra
cavity protection.
Oh--and one other great idea given to us by a Mom--when your child is
teething, put the Spiffies packet into the fridge and when cool, remove and
gently massage the gums...so soothing and cool on those inflamed areas.
How To Use:
Wrap the Spiffies around your index finger and pull the end over the
top of the index finger--hold securely with your thumb and wipe the
teeth, gums side of cheeks and tongue.
